We study two and three jet events with a large rapidity gap at HERA. Unlike in the IngelmanSchlein approach we do not adscribe a structure to the Pomeron. We quantify the central inclusive background contributions to exclusive Higgs production at the LHC arising from double-Pomeron-exchange processes. We consider the H → bb̄ signal. We study processes mediated by the fusion of two ‘hard’ Pomerons, and also by the fusion of ‘soft’ Pomerons. Solving effective field theory of interacting QCD pomerons in the semi-classical approximation

Effective field theory of BFKL pomerons interacting by QCD triple pomeron vertices is investigated. Classical equations of motion for the effective pomeron fields are presented being a minimal extension of the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation that incorporates both merging and splitting of the pomerons and that is selfdual.
